Calyptus developed training on Strategic Sourcing, Category Management and Negotiations and conducted the training to staff in Shanghai, Johannesburg, Perth, Singapore, Brisbane, Salt Lake City, Voreppe, and Montreal. Courses were conducted in English and French.

The Results

A consistent knowledge of procurement best practices across geographic locations, mine types, and employee knowledge level. A commitment to reducing total costs and improving supplier performance was demonstrated and validated.

OTIS

The Problem
Elevator manufacturer Otis Worldwide was rolling out a Strategic Sourcing initiative worldwide. The company wanted to create a five year procurement management strategy that was fully supported by strategic sourcing. A five year strategy was developed and training for staff at all locations was conducted in eight languages in 20 different countries. During the training, sourcing plans were developed and communicated with defined savings.

Calyptus Group's Solution

Calyptus conducted Strategic Sourcing training courses at Otis locations worldwide. At each location, we worked with staff in the training session to develop Strategic Sourcing plans for their individual location. In this way, we both trained staff and guided them into the implementation of strategic sourcing principles. We also conducted Supplier Management, Cost and Price Analysis, and Train-the-Trainer training.

The Results

All locations were able to initiate strategic sourcing efforts simultaneously, while ensuring that location was equipped with a plan that was tailored to their specific needs. All of the projects were rolled up into an overall plan, and status was tracked on a monthly basis. Over $250 Million of savings were identified.
